Google Pay: what is google pay ?
Google pay stylized G Pay is a digital wallet platform and online payment system. It is developed by Google for power-in-app and tap-to-pay purchases in mobile devices, Which enables users to pay with Android phones.
January 8, 2018, the old Android Pay and Google Wallet have been integrated into a single payment system called Google Pay. Android Pay was re-branded to Google’s name and it was named Google Chrome’s Auto-fill feature.
The re-branded service provided a new API that allows merchants to add payment services to websites, apps, strips, banners and Google subsidiaries. Service allows users to use payment cards on their file with Google Play.
Google Payment Card uses the facility of communication for field communication (NFC), allowing retailer to make money transfer. This is similar to a contractual payment already used in two countries with two-factor authentication. This service allows Android devices to wireless communicate with sales systems using the protection of near-area communication (NFC) antenna, host-based card emulation (HCE) and Android.
Where Google Pay is available, it takes advantage of physical credentials like fingerprint ID. On devices with fingerprint IDs, Google is activated with a pass-code. Google does not send credit or debit card numbers with a payment. It generates a virtual account number representing the user’s account information. This service keeps sending the customer’s security information privately.
Google Pay requires that a screen lock be set on the phone. It has no card limit.
Users can add payment cards to the service by manually taking a photo card, or by entering the card information manually.
Originally launched as Android Pay, this service was released in Google I / O 2015. Android was manufactured and built on Android base on Google Wallet, which was released in 2011. It acquired its intellectual property in February 2015, using carrier-backed soft-cards Google was using technology.
- In 2016, Google launched a public trial in Silicon Valley, a related mobile app called Hands Free. In this system, the customer does not need to present a phone or card. A Customer announces that they want to “pay with Google” and give the cashier their habits, which confirm their identity with the photos already uploaded in the system.
- 18 September 2017, Google launched a UPI-based App Tez in India. On August 28, 2018, Google reverted Tez to Google Pay.
- On 8 January 2018, Google announced that Google Wallet will be merged with Android Pay, as the service will be fully re-branded in the form of Google Pay. It extends the merger platform to integrated web-based payments into other Google and third-party services. Re-branding began as an update on the Android pay app on February 20, 2018; The app was given an up-to-date design, and now displays a personal list of nearby stores that support Google Pay.
- On December 21, 2018, Google Payment received an e-Money License in Lithuania – License will enable Google to process payments, issue e-funds and handle electronic money Wallet.
