India is the fastest growing Samsung smartphone market. Therefore, the phone maker has moved towards India with different types of smartphones. Most buyers in India like to keep a mid-range smartphone, this is a flood of smartphones in price range. The mid-range market has been completely captured by companies like Xiaomi, Honor, Realme, and Asus.
But the game is going to change soon. Korean technical giant, Samsung is going to register its presence in the mid-range. Samsung is going to introduce a new budget smartphone series in India this month. It is expected that Samsung will launch three smartphones.
The company will launch Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 in the coming months and next month Galaxy M30.
In the new Galaxy M series, it is expected that Samsung will provide features like Infinity-V display, Triple-camera setup, 5,000mAh battery. Like other Samsung smartphones, this M-Series will also be manufactured at the Samsung factory in Noida. The process is also started. This new series will be launched in India first and will be hit later in other markets.
Xiaomi is very successful with the Redmi series in the mid-range price segment.
Partner and Research Director at Counterpoint Research, Neil Shah told IANS that “Samsung has access to the latest display, camera, memory, and connectivity technologies from a hardware perspective. Further, it can enjoy global scale for the same ‘M’ models more than Xiaomi”.
He also said Samsung is in a better position even in the offline market and better service network. The only paper Xiaomi is leaving the margin and out-pricing competition – Samsung will have to challenge with all these models. In the design approach, Samsung’s Infinity Display Concept is different from running Nokia Display.
The Galaxy M10 and M20 are expected to be launched at a price of 9,500 and 15,000, respectively. No price has been confirmed for the M30 yet.
M20 will be Samsung’s first smartphone, packed with a battery of 5000mAh. The M10 will have a 3500mAh battery.
The M30 is a high-end model and is quite expensive in this series. There will be a Triple-Camera setup. Samsung is playing a number game with the camera. Recently, the company has introduced the Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A9 with triple rear camera setup and quad-camera setup respectively.
